Dr. Afshin Janmohamed, DC, BSc

Dr. Afshin Janmohamed received his BSc degree in Human Biology and his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the University of Western States. Prior to this, he had a career in the healthcare field where he was exposed to patients who were taking a variety of medications to minimize their symptoms and alleviate pain. After a few years, he realized that he would like to help people without medication in a more hands-on manner, thus his decision to pursue a Doctorate of Chiropractic. Dr. Afshin has treated patients in numerous clinics including those in underserved communities. This inspired a passion to volunteer in third world countries, helping individuals of all ages and a variety of neuromusculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Afshin has always been an active individual with an interest in a variety of sports and leading a healthy lifestyle. He believes that whatever activity or sport you partake in, you should be participating in order to stay active and have fun, even if you are just trying something new. After all, being physically active is essential to help the human body function optimally.

Though Dr. Afshin enjoys treating individuals from all walks of life, he has an avid interest in treating all types of athletes by helping to improve their pain-free function in sport and optimizing their results while helping to reach their personal goals. As a Chiropractor with a holistic approach and an emphasis on a patient’s overall health and wellness, Dr. Janmohamed treats problems associated with the body’s muscular, nervous, and skeletal systems by helping to alleviate any symptoms and encouraging the body to self-heal.

Chiropractic Services Offered:

Diversified Manual Spinal and Extremity Adjusting: A high velocity low amplitude force is applied to a joint, providing segmental mobility to any joint in the body, and improves overall range of motion.

Instrument Adjusting: A device used to apply a gentle force to move a joint on acute, osteoporotic, and fragile patients, or on the jaw for TMJ pain.

Therapeutic Ultrasound: Sound waves are absorbed to initiate tissue healing, reduce pain, and increase circulation.

Low Level Light Therapy/Cold Laser: Light is absorbed through the skin to activate the production of energy in cells, and stimulates tissue healing at a cellular level.

Full Body Active Release Technique (A.R.T.): A movement based massage technique to treat conditions and problems associated with tight muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia, and nerve impingement. Treating any muscle, ligament, tendon, or nerve in the body.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Technique (IASTM): For areas of chronic inflammation, degeneration, and fibrotic scar tissue. A Myobar tool is used to break down scar tissue to promote tissue healing, and increase range of motion.

Rock Tape Fascial Movement Taping: Rock tape is most widely known for its use on professional athletes. It is designed to create a biomechanical lifting of the skin away from the tissue underneath. This allows more blood to flow into the injured area accelerating healing, performance, and activating muscle groups.

Electrotherapy/Interferential Current (IFC): Reduces pain, muscle spasms, and muscle tightness. IFC has a higher frequency and reaches greater depths over a large volume of tissue in comparison to a TENS unit.

Custom Foot Orthotics: We can fit you for custom foot orthotics in-office to help provide support, alignment, correct problems with your feet, or correct foot imbalances that may cause or aggravate conditions in other parts of your body. Most common conditions that may benefit from custom foot orthotics include excessive pronation or supination, flat feet (pes planus), high arches (pes cavus), diabetic neuropathy, congenital knee problems, or other foot conditions.
