At Riverside Massage Therapy all RMTs accept the following:
Patients on premium assistance can claim part of the cost of their massage therapy treatment through their British Columbia Medical Services Plan (MSP). Patients are entitled to 10 total visits per calendar year to supplementary health care providers and will be responsible to supplement the remaining cost of their visit. If you are eligible then MSP will pay for $23 towards your treatment.
Private / Extended Insurance
Many of the practitioners at Riverside can direct bill your extended health plan such as Pacific Blue Cross, Sunlife, Manulife, and more. Patients may have extended health benefits through a workplace group insurance plan that covers massage therapy by an RMT. Coverage varies and so does the requirement of a physician’s referral. Please check with your plan.
If you have been injured in an automobile accident please check with your ICBC adjuster to see if you are covered for massage therapy. You will be required to bring in your claim number, adjuster’s name and contact information for your first appointment. For some RMT’s you will be required to pay upfront for your visit and then be reimbursed by ICBC any fees thereafter for massage therapy and others at the clinic will direct bill ICBC for a portion of your treatment cost. Please inform reception when booking if direct billing is important to you.
WorksafeBC, formerly WCB
WorksafeBC covers injured workers for their visits to a Registered Massage Therapist. If your claim has been accepted for coverage, you will not have to pay for the costs of your treatments. You will be required to bring in your claim number for your first appointment. We require confirmation prior to booking your first appointment that your claim has been accepted for massage therapy.
RCMP are covered for massage therapy at no cost to the member. You will be required to fill out a form at your initial visit.
We are able to bill the full cost for treatment directly to the DVA for veterans. Please notify reception upon booking your first treatment if you are a veteran.
